A primary school’s exam results are under investigation by the Department for Education (DfE).

All of last year’s SATs results for year 6 pupils at High View Primary School, in Battersea, have been declared invalid, following allegations of maladministration.

On top of this the headteacher Shaf Hussain has written to parents announcing that, for personal reasons, she will stand down at half-term.

Now governors of the beleaguered school, along with Wandsworth Council, will appoint an "interim executive headteacher" until a permanent replacement is found.

Miss Hussain wrote: "It has been a privilege to serve as headteacher at the school. It is a responsibility I have always taken very seriously in aiming to provide the best education possible for your children.

Wandsworth Times:

I have enjoyed working with so many talented and dedicated staff and feel very confident that the school is in great shape and will continue to flourish."

A spokesman for the Standards and Testing Agency, an arm of the Department for Education, said: "Any instances of maladministration of tests are completely unacceptable.

"Following an investigation into the administration of 2014 key stage 2 tests at High View Primary School, the decision was made to annul results for the entire cohort."

A council spokesman said: "Parents were informed last summer that the Standards and Testing Agency would not be publishing Key Stage 2 test results for High View School. Since then, the council has been working with the school’s governors to investigate the administration of last year’s SATs and this process is continuing."
