Planning permission has been granted for another 20 council homes in Nine Elms.

The new development, on the Patmore Estate, was approved last week by the council’s planning committee and will replace a disused garage, in Deeley Road.

The proposal is for a brick building, going from four storeys to five, with a mix of one, two and three bedroom flats. All will be owned and managed by the council.

The properties will include triple glazed winter garden balconies and will be offered to Wandsworth residents below market rates. Priority will be given to those in homes bigger than they need or overcrowded.

Fifteen homes were agreed for the Patmore Estate last year, as well as 22 nearby on the Savona Estate.

Wandsworth Times:

All the developments are part of the council’s self build programme, delivering 200 homes across Wandsworth in the next five years.

Planning applications committee chairman, Councillor Sarah McDermott, said: "This is a very good quality proposal and will provide another 20 low cost rent homes in Nine Elms. The council will give top priority to people living in the local area to ensure the surrounding community is first to benefit."
