Wandsworth awoke to a dusting of snow this morning, with rooftops, car roofs and pavements turned white.
Light blanket: Balham this morning
The weather came days after a light sprinkling graced parts of the borough on Saturday morning, but disappeared shortly after it fell.
Peter le Riche, 35, of Lytton Grove, Putney, said quieter streets in Putney and Roehampton were covered in snow and children enjoyed throwing snowballs on their way to school.
He said: "It was slow going for most of the commuters going up and down Putney Hill this morning.
"I work at the University of Roehampton and the campus looks beautiful, almost like Narnia in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. All our lawns and trees are covered in snow and even our lake has frozen.
"I’m expecting to see a one or two snowmen turning up on the campus at lunchtime today."
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice and snow, meaning people should be aware, rather than be prepared or take action.
Granard Avenue: Roehampton "enjoyed" some snow
Further snow showers are expected later in the week, with temperatures remaining cold.
