A CCTV image of missing 14-year-old Joshua Mould has been released by police as they urge people to check sheds, outbuildings and open areas.

UPDATE: The teenager has been found 'safe and well'

The vulnerable boy, who has learning difficulties, has been missing for nearly 48 hours.

He disappeared from Springfield Hospital, in Tooting, on Tuesday, February 24.

This afternoon police said Joshua needs to take regular medication and has no money or way to travel.

Wandsworth Detective Inspector, Tim Scott, said: "We are extremely concerned for Joshua as he has now been missing for nearly 48 hours and we have had no confirmed sightings of him.

“Since leaving Springfield Hospital, where he is a patient, he has missed taking his medicine.

"Joshua has learning difficulties and may struggle to communicate with people.

“He does not like crowds and he is likely to be very frightened and confused.

"As far as we are aware he has no cash or other means to travel.

“I am urging residents to check their outbuildings or sheds, as I am very concerned that Joshua may seek to shelter from the weather.

“I would also ask that members of the public look out for Joshua in open spaces.

"We are extremely worried for Joshua as he lacks the ability to care for himself, and as such I would urge the public to be vigilant for him."

Joshua was last seen by staff in the grounds of Springfield Hospital at 16.50pm on Tuesday, February 24.

He is described as white, 6ft 1in tall and of a slim build.

He has black unkempt hair with a long fringe covering his eyes.

He also wears thick black rimmed glasses.

If seen, Joshua is likely to avoid eye contact and he may tap the side of his head repetitively.

At the time of his disappearance, Joshua was wearing a dark bomber-style jacket and dark tracksuit trousers. He was also wearing grey canvas shoes with white soles.

Police are asking people to call them immediately on 999 is they see him.
