A teenager has appeared in court in connection with a stabbing near New Malden McDonald’s on Monday night.
Basel Elmaarfi, 18, of Ullswater Crescent, Kingston, appeared in Wimbledon Magistrates' Court today charged with grievous bodily harm.
Alexander Danabalan, 40, was found in Sussex Road with stab wounds to his back and leg after police were called to reports of a fight just after 9pm on Monday.
He was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were deemed serious but not life-threatening.
Mr Elmaarfi was not asked to enter a plea and was remanded in custody and will appear at Kingston Crown Court on Tuesday, April 14.
