From bank detail scams to badly parked lorries, Wandsworth police are showing a day in their life as they reveal what they are called to in a standard day.

The operations team are live tweeting the calls they receive from 10am to 10pm today. For 12 hours 999 and 101 calls will be tweeted as they come in across Wandsworth.

So far today, the force has been called to a man causing a disturbance at hospital, a woman reporting unwanted advances from a man in Putney and reports of domestic assault, among many calls.

One of their followers has promised to donate 5p for each call tweeted - yet another person hoping the crime rate drops.

Fellow Twitter users have responded with enthusiasm and interest in what police get up to.

Laura Murphy said: "MPSWandsworth and live tweeting all their call again for the second round of #MPSWandsworthLive. Super interesting last time around."

Mike Norman Francis said: "Once again @MPSWandsworth is live tweeting a day in the life on #MPSWansdworthLive. Was fascinating to watch last time."

Ahmad Bhatti said: "We should be grateful for what the police does for us by risking their lives to protects us. Thank you #MPSWandsworthLive."

It is the second live tweetathon the force has done, the first took place in January.

Superintendent Steven Wallace, in charge of operations, said: "We had plenty of positive feedback after our last tweetathon in January. Building on that success, we've decided to run another day of tweeting, this time between 10am and 10pm.

"We are keen to continue to show the full range of work that our officers do on a day to day basis."

MPS Islington are also taking part in the live tweets today and Mike Kenworthy decided to use the tweetathon to give some money to charity.

He said: "For each tweet put out by @MPSWandsworth in #MPSWandsworthLive and @MPSIslington #MPSIslingtonLive I will donate 5p to @JourneyJoshuas."
