Foodies will flock to the eighth annual Tooting Foodival next month.
The community-led festival, held in Upper Tooting Road and Tooting High Street, celebrates sustainable cooking and locally donated produce over the weekend of September 12 to 13.
A competition will determine the cooks who create the tastiest dishes with the lowest amount of food miles.
Foodival director Malsara Thorne said: “It’s a festival first and foremost that brings hundreds of people together to taste a variety of dishes unique to Tooting. “While the recipes have their roots in countries as diverse as Sri Lanka, Poland, Lebanon and the UK, nearly all of the ingredients used are grown within a five-mile radius of Tooting.
“It’s a celebration of abundant urban growing spaces, low food miles and community. “It helps us all to think about where all our food comes from – from seed to feast.”
