A faulty extension lead is believed to have sparked a fire at a maisonette in Southfields earlier this month.
The blaze damaged two double mattresses and an electrical socket in the upper floor bedroom of the property in Windlesham Grove on October 1.
A portable heater was left on in the bedroom, plugged into an extension lead, while a woman and her three children were out.
A faulty extension cable caught fire, fire investigators believe.
Firefighters were called at 4.58pm and had the fire under control within 50 minutes, ensuring it did not spread to any adjoining properties.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters from Wandsworth, Wimbledon, Fulham and Battersea fire stations attended the blaze.
