Officers are appealing for information after a woman was hit by a motorcycle.

Police were alerted to reports of a crash on Swandon Way junction with A217 by Wandsworth Town station at about 5.53pm yesterday.

Officers found a woman in her twenties suffering from serious head injuries after being hit by a motorcyclist.

London Ambulance attended and treated the woman before she was taken to a south London hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the motorcycle stopped after hitting the woman and is assisting police.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

Sergeant John Harrison from the roads and transport policing command said: "This collision occurred on a busy stretch of road during rush-hour.

“I'm certain other drivers and pedestrians saw what happened. We need them to call us with any information."
