Tributes have been paid after a man who campaigned tirelessly for Battersea Park died on January 21, aged 79.
Jan Copeman, born H.G. Copeman in 1935, lived in Overstrand Mansions from 1968 until he moved to a Wiltshire nursing home in 2013.
He had two sons.
His son, Nigel Copeman said: "He was a member of the Friends of Battersea Park, but in truth he loved all of Battersea with all his heart.
"He learned everything he could about Battersea Pottery, The Battersea Shield and the Old Red House and researched Battersea’s history tirelessly."
Mr Copeman said his father felt a duty to preserve and conserve for the future.
He said: "He passionately believed it was wrong for any park given to the people of London be used by a organisation to make a profit.
"He used his brilliant intelligence, exuberance and energy to ruffle feathers within the Wandsworth events team."
The funeral will be held in Wiltshire on February 8.
