A convicted child sex offender from Dorset who may have got on a London-bound train is wanted by police after breaching his bail conditions.

David Chadwick, 58, from Weymouth, was recently released from prison after being convicted of sexual offences against children in 2013, but is now wanted by Dorset Police after failing to show up for a probation meeting.

Members of the public are asked not to approach him but to dial 999 instead.

He is said to be white, of medium build, around 5ft 10ins with short grey hair and a small scar on his left cheek.

He was last seen wearing a dark coloured, Barbour style jacket and glasses and was carrying A4 paperwork.

Detective inspector Richard Dixey said: "I'd like to assure members of the public that officers are making every effort to find this man as soon as possible.

"It appears that David Chadwick could have taken a London-bound train and therefore we also want to make the public along this route aware.

"I'd also like to remind everyone that all calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”

Anyone with information to Chadwick’s whereabouts should call Dorset Police on 999.
