A man wanted for attempted murder in Reading may be in Wandsworth, police have said.

Thames Valley Police has re-released an image of a man wanted in connection with the attempted murder of a 28-year-old in Sidmouth Street at about 5pm on the Boxing Day 2015.

Q Johnson, 21, also known as Ricky or Jamie Sampson is wanted in connection with the stabbing.

It is believed that Mr Johnson has links to Reading, Bedford in Bedfordshire and Wandsworth.

The victim was stabbed in the chest and his lung was punctured.

He was treated at The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford but has since been discharged.

A second man, in his 20s and known as Diego, is also wanted in connection. Both men are black, about 5ft 8ins and of medium build.

Investigating officer, Det Con Ben Sherriff of Force CID based at Reading police station, said: "Our appeal was published on BBC’s Crimewatch on Thursday evening and we thank members of the public for their help since the programme was aired.

"I would appeal to anyone with any information about the whereabouts of Q Johnson, who is also known as Ricky or Jamie Sampson, to contact police immediately.

"I would also appeal to anyone who recognises the second man, who we believe is known as Diego, to make contact with the police as soon as possible.

"If you are harbouring either of these men then you could be committing a crime, so it is vitally important that you contact us now."

Those with information should call 101.

Members of the public are advised not to approach the men but to call 999.
