Spice Village in Tooting has been nominated for the Tiffin Cup by Sadiq Khan.

Mr Khan put his nomination choice to public vote, and Spice Village was put forward by two thirds of respondents.

Wandsworth Times:

Mr Khan, MP for Tooting, said: "I am delighted that the nomination for Spice Village has been accepted and will take part in this year’s Tiffin Cup.

"This is such a prestigious competition and I look forward to welcoming Spice Village to the House of Commons."

The Tiffin Cup is an annual award, which every MP in the country nominates a south Asian restaurant for.

This year the competition is in aid of the charities World Vision and Water Aid.

In last year’s Tiffin Cup, Tooting’s Vijaya Krishna restaurant was 'Highly Commended'.

Mr Khan said: "I am sure everyone in Tooting will be rooting for Spice Village to become this year’s Tiffin Cup champions."

Those restaurants attend a cook off at the House of Commons and a winner is chosen and announced in Parliament on July 12.
