The annual Ritherdon Road Street Party will be alive with the sound of music next month with the introduction of a full music stage.

The free event will feature live music and a variety of professional dance displays along with more than 50 food stalls and boutique traders for people to enjoy, writes Matt Urquhart.

Organiser Gill Skrzypczak says: "The annual Street Party has always been incredible fun and it really does bring the local community together.

“This year we've managed to close the road, introduce a music stage and double the number of stalls – it's going to be phenomenal!"

The street party is raising funds and awareness for Beyond Autism and Wandsworth's Rainbow School.

Places for People Leisure, who run Balham Leisure Centre and Tooting Bec Lido, will be giving out free passes to their facilities to support the event.

The party will be held on Sunday, May 22, from 11am-5pm.
