Sadiq Khan will be able to count on the backing of 12 Labour members in the Greater London Authority, as the party picked up a majority in the capital's assembly.
Labour's constituency candidates won nine of the 14 seats up for grabs, with a particular upset in Merton and Wandsworth where Leonie Cooper's third appearance on the ballot paper finally resulted in a Labour victory.
In the list elections, Labour picked up enough votes to add three seats to their numbers, giving them 12 seats out of 25.
The Conservatives won the remaining five constituency seats, and added three in the list selection.
The Green party won two list seats, Ukip took two and the Liberal Democrats kept one.
Ukip's two members are the first they have had since 2004.
The list members are:

Peter Whittle, UKIP
David Kurten, UKIP
Fiona Twycross, Labour Party
