Nearly 100 people, including the Mayor of Wandsworth, sampled wines from around the world to raise money for people living with HIV.

Wandsworth Oasis held the wine tasting night with Hannibal Brown, in their Tooting charity shop on Thursday, May 12, raising more than £1,500.

Wandsworth Times:

Councillor Nicola Nardelli, the former Mayor of Wandsworth, was among the guests.

Gill Perkins, chief executive officer of Wandsworth Oasis said: "Our Old Curiosity Wine Tasting Adventure was a huge success on every level.

"We like to use our retail space creatively not only to raise money for vulnerable people with HIV in Wandsworth, but also to raise awareness about the virus and how it is contracted in a non judgemental way.

"The event raised more than £1,500 for the charity whilst also enabling us to showcase our work to new and existing supporters. Huge thanks to Hannibal Brown for their support and for putting on such an amazing event for us."

Guests tried 23 different wines at stations placed around the shop during the evening.
