Frontrunning candidates in the Tooting by-election clashed over the European Union referendum, renting, and air pollution at a hustings hosted by Wandsworth Radio on Friday evening.
Labour's Rosena Allin-Khan, Conservative Dan Watkins, the Green candidate Esther Obiri-Darko, Liberal Democrat Alex Glassbrook and UKIP's Elizabeth Jones took part in a two hour debate held in Tooting Market and broadcast to listeners at home.

Candidates were asked how they would tackle the problems of rising rent in Tooting.
Mr Glassbrook claimed the MP would have to challenge Wandsworth Council with a "forensic approach" and criticised his Conservative opponent for pledging to work with the council.
Mr Watkins said: "This is not a Wandsworth-only issue, it is a London issue.
"One thing we want to do is build 200,000 homes a year which is needed to bring the market into balance."
Mr Watkins also said Sadiq Khan, now Mayor of London had to roll back on his promise to build 50,000 homes across the capital.
Dr Allin-Khan said: "If we are going to talk about that, let's talk about Boris Johnson who did not build half of his pledge.
"Rents are rising, I'm a renter in Tooting and it is very expensive.
"I am going to work hard with Sadiq to build more affordable homes."
Ms Jones said there should be a link between wages and rent, and there should be a way to monitor the homeless and vulnerable to ensure they do not come to harm.
Ms Obiri-Darko argued for more secure tenancy agreements so that people know how long they can stay in their homes.
The candidates then faced off on the European Union and the upcoming referendum, and were asked how a leave vote would affect Tooting.
Ms Jones said: "I vote leave for freedom.
"It would mean we are in a better position to safeguard the NHS.
"Privatisation is coming via the EU."
Mr Glassbrook, who will vote to remain, said: "We spend £7 billion a year on the EU and £145 billion, rightly, on the NHS.
"The maths that takes us out to fund the EU is daft, it is nonsense."
The remaining three all confirmed they would also vote to stay in the EU.

Candidates were quizzed on the levels of pollution along Tooting High Street, with all keen to work to improve air quality.
Mr Watkins said as a cyclist, the pollution issue was a big concern to him, and he would like to see more emission free travel used, and greener buses come to Tooting.
Green candidate Ms Obiri-Darko said: "We are all breathing in illegal air.
"We need to extend the ultra low emission zone, we need to fight for removal of diesel buses or accelerate the process of hybrid buses.
"I would give schools funds to put green areas on their roofs."
Ms Jones said the balance had to be struck to allow for the nature of online commerce, which has seen more delivery lorries on the roads.
Mr Glassbrook said he had been campaigning for years on the matter, with safer streets in general a key concern for him and the Liberal Democrats.
Dr Allin-Khan said working in St George's allowed her to see the effects of air pollution and unsafe streets everyday, and that she would campaign to encourage cycling and car pooling and make cycling safer.
