Formula E racing driver Sam Bird returned to his birthplace for a mini football tournament with young people from Roehampton Youth Club, on Monday, June 27.
The championship contender, who was born in Roehampton, enjoyed a kick around with young footballers as part of a national campaign by UK charity StreetGames.
Before the event the racing driver, who has taken one win and two pole positions this season, said: "I was born in Roehampton, but I haven’t been back in a long time, so I’m looking forward to meeting up with the StreetGames team there.
"If I hadn’t been a racing driver, I’d like to think I could have had a career as a professional footballer, so I might be able to give them a few hints and tips on ball control as well as explaining car control."
StreetGames is a UK-based inclusive sports charity, whose mission is to try and make sports more accessible to young people from the lowest socio-economic communities.
Formula E is a worldwide racing championship for drivers of electric vehicles.
This year's racing season will conclude with a two-day event at Battersea Park this weekend, July 2 and 3.
