Radlett show no sign of slowing down even with influential overseas player Jon-Jon Smuts missing his second game while playing in the Caribbean Premier League.

The South African all-rounder had been one of the stars of the Cobden Hill side’s season before jetting out to play for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

But Kabir Toor’s side maintained their unbeaten start to the Hertfordshire Premier Division season by thrashing Sawbridgeworth by 10 wickets on Saturday thanks to a fine display from openers Fraser Crawford (110) and Toor (84).

Visitors Radlett won the toss and put their hosts into bat but they were forced to wait patiently for the breakthrough. It finally came when opener Charlie Rudkin (13) was removed by Maaz Sheth (one for 59).

Sawbo held firm until Randeep Sanghera (three for 28) got stuck into their line-up to reduce the home side from 143 for three to 163 for six.

Rob Clements (four for 36) then got in on the act, clearing out the tail to help remove the hosts for 195.

Radlett made light work of wrapping up the victory with Crawford smashing 110 for 102 – including 18 fours and two sixes – while, alongside him, former Merchant Taylors’ School pupil Toor laid on 84 from just 66 deliveries hitting eight fours and five sixes.

The leaders made light work of wrapping up the win, finishing on 198 without loss off just 28 overs.

Meanwhile, Shenley Village saw their Division One fixture at home to Kings Langley cancelled due to the rain.

The Seconds drew at Luton Town & Indians in Division Five B and the Thirds’ game at Flitwick was also cancelled due to the inclement weather.
