On this day last year, Londoners were blinking away the sunshine and sweltering in 30 degree temperatures as a blistering heatwave gripped the capital.

That was nice, wasn't it?

One year on, as the country continues to reel from the seismic shock of last week's vote to leave the European Union, the Great British Summer continues its slow, damp march to be the wettest on record.

Today is going to be cloudy, with a good chance of rain in the afternoon. Highs of only 16 celcius, according to the Met Office.

In the words of Ian Dury: "Why don't you get back into bed?"
