Tooting’s new MP, Rosena Allin-Khan, helped raise more than £2000 when she visited her former hospital.

Dr Allin-Khan, who spent 11 years working in A&E at St George’s Hospital, spoke at a charity fun day on Sunday, July 10.

The event raised £2,600 for Ronald McDonald House, Tooting, with entertainment including food stands, a raffle, handicraft stalls, and live music.

Ronald McDonald House, Tooting aims to keeps families together by providing free ‘home away from home’ accommodation for families with children at St George’s Hospital.

House manager of Ronald McDonald House Tooting, Rachel Tween, said: “It was such a fantastic day and it was lovely to see families who stayed at the Ronald McDonald House Tooting re-unite with staff from the Hospital and House.

"I’d also like to say a massive thank you to all the volunteers who helped out on the day as it couldn’t have happened without them.

"Events like these are crucial, because Ronald McDonald House Charities is an independent charity we rely on donations to ensure our House at St George’s Hospital is available for the hundreds of families who need us each year.”
