Young people across London have been warned about trespassing on railways by police as the city has experienced a spike over the summer.
British Transport Police (BTP) said there has been a 17 per cent increase over the summer.
In the last ten years, almost 170 people in the UK have died after trespassing on railways – with over half aged under 25.
A BTP spokesman: “We are reminding young people that if they are on the railway, they are on dangerous ground.
“It may seem like a good idea to take a shortcut, or like fun to play on the tracks, but this is not only illegal, it is also dangerous.”
