Thunderstorms could be seen over south London and north Surrey on a hot and humid day, forecasters have warned.
The Met Office predict a sunny, sultry day after the sun burns away the patchy morning mist.
While it might not be as hot as Tuesday’s record-breaking 34.4 degrees Celsius, the mercury is expected to reach a maximum of 30 degrees, making Balham warmer than Barcelona today, Richmond hotter than Rio de Janeiro and Sutton more sizzling than Shanghai.
However, weather experts warn the heat and humidity could lead to heavy storms later this afternoon and into the evening.
