A man and a woman were taken to hospital after a reported double stabbing in Battersea.

Police were called to Queenstown Road just before 6pm on Wednesday.

Officers found a woman with a laceration to her arm and she was taken by ambulance to hospital.

A man found nearby had a cut to his hand. He was arrested and was also taken to hospital for treatment.

A police spokesman said: “At this early stage officers believe that the woman and the man are known to one another and are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.”

People at the scene reported both people involved were in a car which stopped in the road.

Social media users said they saw police with guns attend the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to call Wandsworth CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
