Police are searching for a man after two women were sexually assaulted in Clapham.

Detectives from the Met Police’s sexual offences, exploitation and child abuse unit released the CCTV of a man they wish to speak to.

A woman was sexually assaulted after a man followed her into a communal hallway in a residential building in Clapham Common South Side at about 2am on Sunday, May 22. The woman was able to fight off her attacker and ran away.

Another woman was sexually assaulted by a man when he approached her from behind who pushed her into a communal area of a block of flats in Klea Avenue at 2am on Sunday, June 26.

The 27-year-old was able to scratch her attacker close to his eyes with her key before he ran away.

The suspect is described as being Asian, between 25 and 35 years of age, medium build, 5ft 5ins, with short black hair and he spoke with an English accent.

CCTV released by the police show a man near where both assaults took place and police want to speak with him as part of the investigation.

Detective Inspector Andrew Wadey from the Met's Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command said: "We are extremely keen to identify this man in connection with these incidents and appeal to anyone with any information to come forward as soon as possible. These incidents were terrifying ordeals for both victims.”
