The Cold Water Swimming Championships is back and taking place this weekend at Tooting Bec Lido.

The event, hosted by South London Swimming Club, involves more than 700 swimmers racing in temperatures as low as 1°C in fancy dress with an award going to ‘Best Hat of the Day’.

The CWSCs is in aid of Crisis, which aims to end homelessness, and those who do not want to race will have the chance at the end to take part in a mass jump-in to raise funds for the charity.

Spectators are welcome and there will be exhibitor stands, food stalls and visitors can grab a hot toddy at the pop up bar.

Entries to the race have closed but people can still join the Crisis jump-in.

The event will take place on Saturday January 28 at Tooting Bec Lido, Tooting Bec Road, London from 9am to 5pm.

Entry on the day is £2.
