Two pupils from a Wandsworth primary school took to the stage at the world’s biggest technology fair last week.

The children, from Beatrix Potter Primary School in Wandsworth, were invited by Discovery Education to talk about virtual reality technology in the classroom.

The year 4 students addressed an audience of teachers from all over the UK at London’s Bett Show on Thursday (January 26).

Taking part in a session on 'the classroom of the future', the children showed how virtual reality brings their lessons to life.

Teacher Gail Pears, who accompanied the pupils, said: "Technology is a really important part of our lessons at Beatrix Potter, and it was a real privilege for the children to be invited by Discovery Education to speak at such a prestigious event.

"They had a fantastic day meeting with Ed Stafford and getting hands on with new classroom technology.”

The pupils also met Discovery Channel presenter and explorer Ed Stafford, the only adventurer to walk to length of the Amazon.

Chris Nash, head of community at Discovery Education said: "Today’s pupils are tomorrow’s scientists, engineers and astronauts – so who better to help us explore the classroom of the future?

"We were delighted to invite the Beatrix Potter pupils to show how virtual reality can really inspire children and broaden their horizons."

The parents of the children have asked that they are not named.
