A teenager was knocked down in Clapham this morning and taken as a priority to a major trauma centre.

Police along with London Ambulance Service were called to reports of a road traffic collision at Poynders Road Clapham just after 8am today (February 28).

A van had collided with a teenage girl.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We sent an ambulance crew, a single responder in car, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene.

“We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“The first of medics arrived at the scene in under two minutes.

“We treated a teenage girl at the scene for a chest injury and took her as a priority to a major trauma centre.”

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said the girl was estimated to be around 17 years old and her injuries were not life threatening.

No arrest have been made.
