Hooded thugs left a man with a broken nose and cuts to his head after an assault in Ewell at the weekend.

The victim was walking along Church Road in West Ewell at about 8.30pm on Sunday (March 5) when he was threatened by a group of men wearing dark hooded tops.

He was assaulted by the suspects, leaving him with a broken nose and cuts to his head.

The man managed to escape and ran home. None of his belongings were taken during the attack.

He was later treated at Epsom Hospital.

Surrey Police is investigating and has appealed for anyone who was in the Church Road area on Sunday evening to come forward.

The Epsom Guardian yesterday contacted Surrey Police to determine the precise nature of the assault, and whether any further descriptions of the ‘group of men’ were available, but is yet to receive an answer.
