Come down to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and give these 'unfortunate' animals the luck of the Irish this St Patrick's Day

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home Centre Manager Robert Young said: “There are some animals who come into Battersea whose stories really tug on your heartstrings - like poor Beauty, who’s been here twice through no fault of her own, and Tiger the cat who went through a terrible time as a stray.

“But here at Battersea we look to change animal’s fortunes for the better, so we’re hoping we can help our four unluckiest animals find their perfect family.”  

Meet the “most unfortunate residents looking for a home at the end of the rainbow this St Patrick’s Day”.

Paddy

Named after the patron saint of Ireland, two-year-old Paddy the cat has had a hard life so far but is a “confident and charming boy” who loves people.

Jenson

Jenson is the longest-stay resident at Battersea’s London centre. A one-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, he arrived more than three months ago because his family could no longer look after him. He’s described as vibrant and clever and he knows plenty of tricks to keep everyone entertained.

Tiger

Tiger, an 11-year-old Domestic Short-hair cat, was found lost and terrified in a local park where a group of children were throwing rocks at him. He has “fully recovered” from his ordeal and would love a caring family to spend his twilight years with.

Beauty

This is Beauty the Greyhound and it’s her second time at Battersea. She has raced more than 110 races in her career but is finding it hard to find a family. She was adopted a few weeks ago but the family realised they weren’t ready for a dog and brought Beauty back. Described as a “lovely lady” she is looking for a long-term home and “hoping it will be forever”.
