The Moscow State Circus has promised a show “unlike anything the audience has ever seen” as it prepares to debut its new UK show in Richmond.
Its new Gostinitsa show – running in Old Deer Park from Thursday, March 30 until Monday, April 3 – is themed around a hotel, with an all-Russian cast of dancers, acrobats and clowns playing the parts of hotel staff.
Alex Cher, one of two clowns in the show, said the audience would experience everything in a traditional Russian circus, bar animal performers.
Mr Cher said: “Traditional Russian circus has animals, but that’s just a theatrical thing. Everything else in this show is exactly the same. Same performers, same tricks, same danger.
“It’s a funny show as well, absolutely. The whole circus is supposed to be all about fun, and laughing, and getting scared.”
There are two performances a day for the five days, which coincide with the Easter school holidays, before the circus moves from Old Deer Park to Shepherd’s Bush.
Tickets can be bought from the box office, which is near to Pools on the Park in Old Deer Park.
