A murder investigation has been launched after a teenager was stabbed to death in Battersea in the early hours of the morning.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service found the stricken 17-year-old in Ingrave Street after being called at 1.25am on Sunday (April 23).

The victim was taken to a south London hospital, but he was pronounced dead at 2.50am.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, officers believe they have established the identity of the victim. His next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

Detectives from Scotland Yard's Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

There has been no arrest at this early stage and the Met’s enquiries continue.
