A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in Battersea.

Paramedics have taken a woman in her 40s  to hospital with ‘non-life threatening injuries’, police stated.

Police were called to Westbridge Road at about 1.40pm today (Friday, May 12) after being called by the London Ambulance Service.

Unconfirmed reports suggested there were about ten police cars, three ambulances and 'armed police' outside a block of flats in Westbridge Road that were taped off.

A man believed to be in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody at a west London police station.

A source told the Wandsworth Guardian about seven police cars swarmed the area after a man ‘holed himself up in a house’ on Westbridge Road.
