Get ready for some excellent music and family fun as a popular street party is returning to Wandsworth Town.

For the eighth year running, ‘Unplugged’ will come to Old York Road, with live music and something for the whole family.

Restaurants, bars and cafés along the street will be serving their food and drink outside throughout the day.

Hosted by Wandsworth Radio, the main stage will feature an eclectic mix of acoustic musicians, plus a performance by children from Stagecoach Performing Arts Putney.

Children’s activities include a carousel, ‘The Sweeper’ from Total Wipe Out and a guest appearance from Sammy the Southside-asaurus.

The free event, from noon to 6pm on June 4, will have a real market feel with 40 stalls selling arts, crafts, jewellery and clothing. A raffle in aid of Age UK Wandsworth will also take place with prizes from the Alma, Barnes and Bray, Chit Chat Chai, Konnigan’s, Meat Up restaurant and Nuffield health.

Old York Road will be closed from 7am to 9pm on the day from the junction with Morie Street to the junction with Homebase car park.

Residents who need to use their vehicles during this period will be able to enter and exit the area via adjoining roads.

Barricades will be manned during the event and emergency services will be provided with access if necessary. Buses will be diverted via Swandon Way, while access to Wandsworth Town railway station will remain unaffected for pedestrians.
