Battersea Arts Centre will hold a fundraising show in order to support those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

Seventeen people so far are confirmed to have died in the fire that ripped through Glenfell Tower in north Kensington on June 14.

Hosted by Daniel Kitson, the event will feature a line-up of comedians including Josie Long, Jeremy Hardy, Heydon Prowse, Imran Yusuf and Mark Thomas.

Thomas said: “Like every Londoner I am shocked, sad and angry about the horrific fire at Grenfell Tower. But it is not enough to feel these things, we need to support those in need.

“Organising a fundraiser is the least we can do to help our fellow Londoners.”

Wandsworth Times:

A major fire destroyed a large section of the centre’s roof in March 2015

“After the fire at Battersea Arts Centre in 2015 and the support people gave, it is fitting that the organisation should now be hosting an event to help others.”

Tickets to the event, taking place on June 19, are £25, with all proceeds going to the Grenfell Tower Appeal.
