Tooting “united in hope” last night at a vigil for peace which highlighted solidarity and resilience in the community.

Tooting MP Dr Rosena Allin-Khan organised the event which drew people from all faiths and backgrounds together to unite in these difficult times.

At the event, Dr Allin-Khan said: “Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Seicks, Christians, everybody, even if you don’t believe in God, we will stand side by side, happily united.

“The aim of this evening is just standing together to celebrate that and say that absolutely nothing will divide us.”

Members from Balham Mosque and Tooting Islamic Centre turned out and today thanked their MP for “organising an inspiring vigil for the community” as well as Wandsworth Council and Wandsworth Police.
