Police want to trace a possible witness after a woman was sexually assaulted in the area of Tremadoc Road, Edgeley Road and Clapham High Street.
Police specified the man is not a suspect.
The victim, aged her 20s, was reportedly sexually assaulted by man described as “tall” and “dark skinned” at around 3am on Saturday, April 29.
The possible witness was seen on CCTV nearby in Edgeley Road and police believe he may have seen the victim or the suspect around the time of the incident.
DC Rob Way of the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command said: “I am appealing for the man shown on CCTV, or for anyone who knows who he is, to contact me.
“It is vital that we speak with anyone who may have information and, to date, we have not been able to trace this witness.”
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Clapham High Street area in the early hours of April 29, or has information that may assist police, is asked to call detectives on 020 8721 4106.
