Work is set to begin to improve pedestrian safety and encourage motorists to drive carefully on one of Battersea’s busiest roads.
The road safety measures in Battersea Church Road involve design changes a four key junctions which will enable people on foot to cross more safely.
The ‘safer crossing points’ will be installed at Sunbury Lane, Crewkerne Court, Bolingbroke Walk and Condray Place.
Changes include kerbside extensions and two new digital signs.
Research shows drivers are more likely to slow down upon seeing these signs, which will be located in Battersea Church Road near St Mary’s Church and Vicarage Walk.
Of those who responded to the public consultation on these works, 76 supported the proposals.
