Wandsworth Radio has set up a crowdfunding page up to help them move to purpose built studios on the Doddington and Rollo housing estate in Battersea.

The page was set up by volunteers at the station, which needs £2,500 to buy new equipment and software to help train more local people in media and journalism.

The old studio at 547 Battersea Park Road, also home to Wandsworth Oasis head office, is in the process of being dismantled as the building has been sold to developers.

Wandsworth Radio director Jason Rosam said: “We’re so excited to be moving into our new studios which are being purpose built in a unit at the business centre on the Doddington and Rollo Estate.

“Our fundraising has already reached one thousand pounds but we need more money to finish the job.”

Mr Rosam, who is also a presenter on BBC Radio London, is eager to continue airing daily local news for residents, and the new studio will have improved facilities for the hundreds of volunteers at the station.

During the transition, the station will have to shut down until the start of September.

While waiting for Wandsworth Radio to get back on the air, why not check out its shows from the past two years here.
