National Rail has warned frustrated commuters that services to and from London Waterloo will be "disrupted" until 10am this morning.

A points failure affecting platform 1 at London Waterloo has resulted in cancellations and delays.

Commuters are now being advised to travel via bus.

A statement said: "Engineers have been made aware and are en-route to site to investigate the fault."

This comes after a turbulent two weeks for South Western Railway after a ticket machine failure on Tuesday; the week before saw the completion of multi-million pound engineering works which quickly followed by another signalling problem.

Train users have again taken to social media this morning to express their anger.
