Pret A Manger and Petit Pret have opened their doors at St George’s University this week.

The larger of the two shops, Pret A Manger, can seat 124 customers and is located in the university’s Jenner Wing and is available to staff, students and visitors.

Meanwhile, the Petit Pret is situated in the Hunter Wing and has a 76-seater capacity.

Both shops feature a selection of Pret sandwiches, baguettes, salads, snacks, hot food and sweet treats.

Items are made fresh on a daily basis in the shop’s shared kitchens, while baristas will serve organic teas, coffees, hot chocolates, smoothies and frappes.

Unsold food from both Pret A Manager and Petit Pret will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House each evening, and the organisation’s existing partnership with St George’s Hospital will provide ‘home away from home’ accommodation for families with children at the hospital.

Francesco Guiso, general manager at the new shop, said: “It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to continue my career with Pret at St George’s, University of London, and even more exciting that I will be working with both shops and shop teams. I better get used to running up and down the stairs!

“The team and I can’t wait to meet and get to know our new customers. We had the chance to meet some during last month’s Freshers’ Fair and look forward to welcoming many more over the coming weeks!”

Pret A Manger in the Jenner Wing is open Monday to Friday from 6.30am to 9pm, 7am to 9pm on Saturdays and 8am to 7pm on Sundays.

Petit Pret in the Hunter Wing is open 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, but closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

The two restaurants opened on Tuesday (October 17).
