You will soon be able to watch films deep below Clapham South train station station in a unique project.
People will be able to walk 180 steps underground and wrap up in a blanket as they watch a ‘bespoke’ Second World War film presented by the London Transport Museum.
You can also see one of 16 sub-shelters, in Balham Hill Road, in a range of complex tunnels and learn about the realities of being a Londoner during the war in a deep-level shelter.
There are also first-hand oral stories, footage showing people living there during the V-weapon raids and throughout the end of the Second World War, as well as Ministry of Information propaganda films, cartoons and newsreel clips of the day.
Hidden London’s Subterranean screenings are approximately 70 minutes long and will begin on January 31, running through to March 11.
There are 30 places available at each screening.
