A third person has been charged in connection with the murder of Malachi Brooks in Wandsworth.

Malachi, 21, who worked as a carpenter, was stabbed to death in Surrey Lane in the early hours of March 28.

Ashrafur Rahman, 23, of no fixed address, was charged on Monday, January 29, with arson and perverting the course of justice.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Kingston Crown Court on February 23.

Two others have been charged in connection with the murder.

Joel Preddie, 20, of Chantry Way, Mitcham, was originally charged with murder and arson, but is now charged with arson.

Abdul Popatpotra, 26, of Tooting, is charged with arson and perverting the course of justice.

Both men pleaded not guilty at the Old Bailey on November 22.

They are due to stand trial on February 26 at a Crown Court yet to be confirmed.
