Tooting school pupils have been inspired by a visit from a boxing champion.
WBA International super-lightweight title holder Ohara Davies took time out of his training schedule to meet Year 7 pupils at Ernest Bevin College in Tooting.
Mr Davies, 25, told the boys: "My goal is to work hard and inspire the next generation to be the best that they can be."
One of the 'Outstanding' rated school's young boxing fans, 11-year-old Mark Zubaj, said: "I found it really inspirational to meet Ohara Davies. It is not easy to be a good boxer, you need to have good skills and know about tactics. My favourite boxer is Muhammad Ali and I would like to be able to box like the professionals when I am older.”
Mr Davies won the WBA International super-lightweight title in September, is currently in training for his next fight at the O2 in April. He was removed from his scheduled fight on February 3 by promoter Matchroom after controversial tweets about The Sun newspaper which he later apologised for, describing them as 'totally ignorant'.
