A major Battersea road has been closed after a person was hit by a motorcycle this morning.

Police were called just after 7.45am by the London Ambulance Service to Battersea Park Road to reports a pedestrian had been hit.

Now the street has been closed both ways as emergency services deal with the incident in the middle of the road.

The crash appears to have happened right outside Harris Academy Battersea, but a spokeswoman for the school said that the victim was not one of its students.

All traffic heading east on Battersea Park Road is being pushed north onto Battersea Bridge Road.

There is no word yet on the condition of the victim.
