Lovers of a Putney cafe which has been closed for a month-and-a-half won't have to wait much longer to get their breakfast needs met.

Ken's Cafe in West Hill closed down in late March as it underwent a refurbishment.

Now, nearly six week later it is due to open once more, but under a different name.

The shop will now be trading under Ho Ja and serving up some Asian cuisine as well its breakfast favourites.

"We are still doing what we used to do but adding different food as we are going to open at night time," a spokesman for the cafe said.

"So we are changing the name of the shop to match our others and make it one company."

The spokesman said he was hopeful to re-open on May 17 and there will even be a special treat for those that come along for the first few days.

He said that for the first four days, some of the food on the menu would be free, although he couldn't specify exactly what.

"I hope you will like it as much as our old favourites."
