A Tooting church is inviting Wandsworth residents to its free community open day.

Holy Trinity Church, Trinity Road, has organised an ‘Open for you’ day from 11am till 3pm on Saturday, June 9 to show friends and neighbours the work the church does in the community.

The programme throughout the day includes tours of the church and tower, all day refreshments from 12pm, and stall and displays showcasing the churches activities.

There will be a presentation at 12pm by the Vicar, Rev Andrew Davey, about Holy Trinity’s plans and vision along with response from local VIPs.

For children, there will be an active games session at 2pm with a giant Jenga kit and parachute as well as a crèche for parents and small children, and craft activities for older children.

Visitors will also see other aspects of the churches response to those in need. This response includes extensive work supporting those living with dementia, a ‘Thursday Club’ initiative to provide a monthly social gathering for those with long term mental health conditions and ‘Trinity Tots’, a weekly carer/parents and toddlers group which welcomes about 40 children every week.

This is the third Holy Trinity open day, after two previous events in 2014 and 2016 and the church hopes to welcome local civic leaders to this year’s event.

Kate Allan, Outreach co-ordinator said: "A warm welcome to all to our Community Open Day. Let us share what we do to enrich our community life. Holy Trinity is 'Open for you' - please come on in!"
