More than 1,500 people crowded to the annual street party in Ritherdon Road, Balham.

A range of market stalls were set up on Sunday, with local residents purchasing goods such as flowers, gourmet doggy food, hand sewn dresses and Turkish towels.

Local shops including Quirky Dovetail, Gallery Midnight, Foxcroft & Ginger were open and held competitions for people to enjoy.

Entertainment was provided by The Haywood Sisters and local children’s entertainer Ministry of Giggles, who kept kids laughing throughout the day.

Wandsworth’s deputy Mayor Cllr Jane Cooper attended, meeting with sponsors James Pendleton’s Estate Agents and Harviestoun Brewery.

Tooting MP Rosena Allin-Khan also took time to introduce some of the Ritherdon Road traders who host this event to the crowd as well.

Gill Skrzypczak, who organises the event on behalf of the Ritherdon Road Traders Association, said: “It’s a great pleasure to be able to organise such a fun, community event on behalf of the local independent traders on Ritherdon Road. Watching the excited faces of the kids, people dancing to the live music and the buzz around the hand selected boutique stalls is fabulous!”
