A 22-year-old man has had to have his leg amputated after his motorbike crashed into a bus stop in Balham.
Police were called to the incident shortly after 7am in Balham High Road on Sunday, June 10.
Detectives are now appealing for witnesses as the rider of the bike remains in hospital following the collision.
Detective Sergeant John Hartfree of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Merton leads the investigation - he said: “We have established that no other vehicles were involved in this collision but we still need people who witnessed this incident to come forward and speak to police.
“A man has been left with life-changing injuries and we need to clarify the sequence of events that led to this collision.”
