Graveney School have opened a wildlife garden on their campus.
A grant from ‘Tesco: Bags for Help,’ has allowed the secondary school to develop the garden in their lower school, where the science and social science class are.
The garden is now open to all student. The school describe it as a place for ‘students to learn about nature and enjoy a quiet place.’
The garden includes a pond which will attract aquatic insects and amphibians, as well as birds. There is also a colourful wildflower meadow and many self seeding plans.
The school hopes it will provide food for pollinating insects in the summer. The school said they will be inviting local primary school children to visit the garden in the next academic year.
